a record in the New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957 on which to be the entire family.
It begins with Cornes Mcgilcuddy (note the misspelling), age 55, then Ellen, age 46, then presumably the children: Thomas 23, Pat 21, Denis 18, Michael 16, Cornelius 15, Mary 13, Eugene 12 and Ellen 10.
This shows they arrived on 23 Jun 1852 on the ship Gipsey, which departed from Tralee, Ireland.

from "Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio in the War of the rebellion 1861-1866 Vol I pg 227, Vol IX pg 652 and page 784Cornelius died at his brothers parsonage in St Patricks church London Oh of lung hemorrage. Had been formerly living in Maisonville, Hamilton cty Oh. For ten years, road-master of the Cincinnati and Marietta Railroad.
I found a census entry today for Cornelius Conway in 1870....and guess who lived next door? Right.......Michael. Here's the entry:
CENSUS-1870: The entry for Cornelius Conway in Madisonville, Hamilton county, OH on 24 June 1870 read as follows: Corenlius Conway (40), m, w, Roadmaster of M & C RR, value of real estate 1800, value of personal estate 100, born in Ireland, both parents born in Ireland, citizen of the U. S.; Bridget (38), f, w, keeping house, born in Ireland, both parents born in Ireland; Mary C (8), female, white, attended school within the year; Margaret (6), f, w,, attended school within the year; Thomas I, or F, or J? (4), m, w, ; John W. (4), m, w. All children born in Ohio (Conway.doc 107). Birthdate indicated 1829 as birthdate from census.,
CENSUS-1870: The entry for Michael Conway, Madisonville, Hamilton, OH on 24 Jun 1870 was as follows: Michael Conway (29), m,w, section boss on railroad, value of personal estate 100, born in Ireland, both parents born in Ireland, U. S. citizen; Johanna (24), f, w, keeping house, born in Ireland, both parents born in Ireland; Mary (4), f, w; and John (2), m, w. Both children born in Ohio, both children's parents foreign born. They were listed next door to Cornelius Conway and family (Conway.doc 107).
So, at least we know 4 of the children's names for Cornelius and Bridget. Both boys were citizens although we still haven't found their naturalization papers.

Here's an entry for the 1880 census in the City of Santa Rosa, Sonoma county, CA where Father John Conway went after he left London, OH.
CENSUS-1880: The entry for John M. Conway in house 90 on fourth street in the City of Santa Rosa, Sonoma county, CA on 5 June 1880 read as follows: Conway, John M., w, m, (37), priest, born in Ireland, both parents born in Ireland; Herbert Essex, w, m, (24) Catholic priest, born in WI, parents born unreadable; Johana Conway, w, f, (22), single, niece, housekeeper, born in OH, both parents born in Ireland (Conway.doc 106).
Perhaps Johanna, 22, born in OH was one of Cornelius's children?
