John Woolheater(Woolhizer)

John Woolhizer came to America from Germany, with his children, between 1780-1789. He lived near Fredricksburg, Dutchess Co., New York (The area later became part of Putnam County, N.Y. and went through various name changes. It was called Franklin, N.Y. and then Patterson, N.Y. Some of his children stayed in that area ). John moved to Middletown, Delaware Co., N.Y. , in the western Catskill Mountains.
The spelling of John's last name, and that of his descendents appeared in various forms, including: "Woolhizer," Woolhiser" and "Woolheater." Woolheiser
