St. Louis Post-Dispatch 08-13-1997 Dorothy D. Sprehe, a retired Internal Revenue Service auditor, died Monday (Aug. 11, 1997) of cancer at St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood. She was 75 and lived in Ballwin. Mrs. Sprehe retired from the IRS office in St. Louis about 1970 after more than 20 years as an auditor. Later, she worked part time at the West County Famous-Barr. Mrs. Sprehe was born in Gerald and attended schools in Washington, Mo. Her husband, James Sprehe, was a Post-Dispatch reporter for many years. He died in 1987. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, 301 Cedar Street, Washington, Mo. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 100 East Fifth Street in Washington. Burial will be private.
