Oscar B. Hurst
Oscar B. Hurst, 58-year-old employee of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad, died suddenly in the Southern Pacific hospital Saturday after a two days illness.
He leaves a widow, Leona Hurst, of Tiburon, two sons, Dennis W. of Sacramento and Oscar B. Hurst Jr., of Tiburon, and he was the brother of Mrs. J. F. Snodgrass of Petaluma.
Deceased had lived in Tiburon for 18 years at the time of his death. He was a native of Oklahoma.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Robert F. Russell & Co. chapel, Mill Valley. Interment will be in Mt. MITCHELL -- Elsie (Ellie) Marie, 89, of Tulsa, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006. She was born on March 5, 1917, in Hinton, OK, and was a long-time resident of Tulsa. She is survived by: 3 children, daughter, Ronda Norton and her husband, Jim of Tulsa; son, Fred Mitchell Jr. and his wife, Shannan Devlin of Tulsa; and daughter, Nancy Mai and her husband, Chuck of Edmond, OK. Ellie is also survived by: 7 grandchildren, Christy Trussell, Melanie Cheek, Leslie Croteau, Hayley Lee, Eric Mai, Chelsea Mai and Justin Mai; and 7 great-grandchildren, Chloe Cheek, Courtney Cheek, Taylor Cheek, Audrey Trussell, Christian Trussell, Christopher Croteau and Elise Lee. She was preceded in death by: her father, Wilbur Meek Lininger; her mother, Ida Marie Lininger; 5 sisters, Loretta Lewis, Lillian Harris, Delphine Dunn, Leona Valentine and Wilma Askew; 2 brothers, Joseph Lininger and Lawrence Lininger; and by her husband, Fred Mitchell, founder of Star Electric Supply Co. of Tulsa. Ellie was Worthy Matron of the Alverson Chapter of the Eastern Star, an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the Women's Golf Association at the Oaks Country Club in Tulsa. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa and a Real Estate Agent for Carriage Realty Co. Ellie had a wonderful sense of humor, a love for family, travel, reading, painting and drawing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or Oklahoma Methodist Manor, in the name of Ellie Mitchell. There will be a Private family service.
