By Staff reports Published: 8/21/2002 OERTLE -- Danny , 53, of West Palm Beach, FL died Thursday, August 15, 2002. He was born March 31, 1949 in Joliet, IL. His parents, Max and Ruby Oertle, moved the family to Tulsa when Danny was 2, and they raised their two boys, Danny and Richard, while owning and operating Oertle's Department Store. Danny attended Cascia Hall Schools and later moved to Florida, where he lived for the past 20 years. He worked for Community Tree Service in West Palm Beach as an Arborist, removing and transplanting palm trees and other tropical foliage. Danny is survived by: 3 sons, Max of Bixby, Danny, Jr. of Florida, and Linus Oertle of Springfield, MO; 3 grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Oertle of Tulsa. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Service was held Monday in West Palm Beach. Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 663-2233.

Donna Jean Oertle, 60, of Nixa, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. She was born October 27, 1948, in Springfield, Mo., to Roy and Dovie Seals. Donna was a loving mother and loved to help people. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Max Oertle. She is survived by two sons, Linus Oertle and wife, Ruth of Clever, and Danny Oertle and wife, Michelle of Loxahatchee, Fla.; two sisters, Karen Camp and Deborah Louderback; and seven grandchildren. BIXBY -- Authorities are investigating how a man died in a Bixby jail cell over the weekend.
Jailers found Max Oertle, 38, of Bixby in his cell about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Capt. James Kite said.
He was not breathing, and first-responders were not able to revive him, he said.
Oertle had been booked Saturday afternoon on complaints of public intoxication and possession of drugs and paraphernalia, Kite said. Police said they think Oertle died in the middle of the night.
No evidence was found that would suggest Oertle had killed himself, Kite said.
"Nothing was found in his cell or on his person," he said. "We had no indication of any health problems."
Although Oertle was intoxicated when he was jailed, he was coherent and answered medical and booking questions, Kite said. The Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death, and a toxicology report is pending, Kite said.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation also is looking into the death.
