Tom Latter
GREELEY, Colo. --- Tom Latter, 59, Greeley, Colo., died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Latter started selling Mac Tools in 1963 in Greeley and opened Latter Tool and Equipment in 1984. He also owned a ranch northeast of Cowdrey, Colo.
He was born Nov. 10, 1941, at Topeka, the son of Robert Earnest and Doris Thelma Engler Latter. He was raised in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School in 1959. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan.
Mr. Latter was a Presbyterian. He was a former member of the Greeley Elks Lodge No. 809 and was a member of the Corvette Club in Greeley and Fort Collins, Colo.
He married Penny Banker on Sept. 2, 1961, at Topeka. She died Feb. 22, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Jody Franz, San Jose, Calif., and Jill Ringer, Tracy, Calif.; a companion, Barbara Benner, La Salle, Colo.; a brother, Don Latter, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Thelma Dailey, Broomfield, Colo.; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at Adamson Memorial West Chapel, Greeley. Mr. Latter was cremated; his cremains will be scattered over his ranch.
