Stephen A. Bryant, a leading citizen and resident of Salt River Township, was born in Lewis County, MO. November 27, 1837, and is a son of Edwin A. and Sophia (Baker) Bryant. The father was born in Virginia and came to Lewis County, MO., in 1834, where he engaged in farming until he embarked in the mercantile business at Canton, MO., which he followed very successfully until his death in 1858. The mother, a native of Kentucky, died in 1870.********

Edmund Thomas Kennedy Jr

President of National Bank of Commerce of Pawhuska.

The Kennedy Building was once the Citizen's National Bank Building. The building was donated to Osage County in 1976, when National Bank of Commerce moved to it new facility. Osage County renovated the building in 1990 for the Department of Human Services. It was named the Kennedy Building in honor of Ed Kennedy, President of National Bank of Commerce when it was donated to the county.

KENNEDY-- Bette Kilpatrick, died at home on July 1, 1999. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, she attended Classen High School and later the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 1942 she married Edmund T. Kennedy and in 1946 moved to Pawhuska where they established their home and raised 3 daughters. She was involved in many social, civic and church activities. She was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Pawhuska, President of the Women's Association of the Church, President of her P.E.O. chapter and worked for many years as an Inspector of Pawhuska's Ward 2 of the Osage County Election Board. Having organized and served as the first President of the Pawhuska Hospital Auxiliary, Mrs. Kennedy's interest in the field of health became the focus of her volunteer work. For 2 years she served as Chairman of the state Oklahoma Hospital Association. She was later appointed to the Governing Board of the Pawhuska Hospital. Her most recent years have been spent living in Oklahoma City where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Evaline Kilpatrick; brother, William Kilpatrick and most recently her husband, Edmund T. Kennedy. She is survived by: her 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Claire Haydel and R.E. II, Oklahoma City, Blake Keffer, Rowell, NM and Laura Gary and Robert S. of Edmond; 4 grandchildren, Becky Keffer, Laura Keffer, Kate Gary and Stephen Gary; and 1 brother, John Kilpatrick. Memorial service will be held Monday, July 5 at 11 a.m. at the Hahn-Cook Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank Mercy Hospice, Dr. Stephen Adler and especially her loving caregivers that have been so precious to her during her years of declining health. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Hospice, 4300 W. Memorial, Oklahoma City, 73120 or to the charity of your choice.[[3045]]
