Harry went to Long Beach from Tulsa in 1920 and designed and built his home at 3361 E. Ocean Blvd. After his death the home was a convent for the Carmelite Catholic nuns for some 40 years ,starting in 12/1949 after the death of his wife Edna. The nuns had a large statue of the Virgin Mary which was decorated frequently by local people with flowers. Later , about 1989, it became a monastery for Zenn buddhist monks. They decided to keep the Virgin Mary statue which was in their religiion a holy person too. The Buddhists did take out the garden area and add a large meeting hall. Harry was a director of First National Bank , and later member of advisory board of Bank of America. He was owner of the California Garage at 729 E third St in Cal. Following the oil play southwestward, Harry Ford Sinclair and one of his many partners, Patrick J. White, and Harry Ross bought crude oil from wildcatters for ten cents a barrel in every prolific field before pipeline outlets were available. Erecting steel tanks, the partners stored millions of gallons of bargain oil. When conditions stabilized,
they sold the filled tanks at a $1.20 per barrel profit. By 1913, Sinclair bossed 62 oil companies, owned
eight drilling rigs, and with his brother controlled a Tulsa bank.(Exchange National Bank forerunner of National Bank of Tulsa..now Bank of Okla) Producing from every mid-continent field, he settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as citizen. In 1916 Harry F Sinclair formed Sinclair Oil Corporation and began building pipelines, besides drilling, and started service stations to spread nationwide...and later became Atlantic Richfield.(ARCO). Sinclair owned Union
Gulf, Richfield Oil(later merged with Atlantic). Sinclair growth helped by keeping things lean, and taking advantages of bankrupcies. In 1958, the Hydromatic® brake product line was transferred to Parkersburg Rig and Reel in Coffeyville,
Kansas. The Coffeyville plant mainly manufactured oilfield pumping units, bolted tanks and Hydromatic®
brakes until 1966. In 1966, Parkersburg Rig and Reel ceased manufacturing oilfield pumping units and
bolted tanks and became Parmac, Inc., a subsidiary of Maloney Crawford Tank Corp.(John M Crawford was Pres of Parkersburg Rig & Reel)His niece Leonore, remembers his middle name as either CLIFFORD or LOUIS. (Louis makes more sense.)

Mamie married David Braniel Briggs on 25 Feb in Eaglesville, MissouriMartha may have been b in Marchfield Mo per another researcher.
another relative found this...indicating possible divorce and other husband too....
I found something on the 1900 Campbell, Greene County, Missouri census for a Joseph C. Cavin and it shows his wife as Martha E. Cavin, age 44, with step children Maude (14), Mannie (12) and Clarence Wilkerson (6). On the 1910 census it lists Joseph Cavin by himself. I believe that Martha might have been married to him for a short while and divorced and she took back her Wilkerson name. MarilynWILKERSON, MARTHA E
