James was going to Wisconsin from NJ for his health. His family told him to stop in Chicago to visit the Rogers family where he met Irene Rogers. The Leahy s knew Rogers from Singer Sewing machine company.
James had TB and went to NMexico for his health. Family went there too but returned to Chicago after his death, when son in 3rd grade.
Worked for oil refining Fiske Bros Refining Co.This line of Leahys had some 10 paternal uncles and aunts living around Elizabeth NJ area. One was a Lt Gov, Mayor and 3 ran floral shops. Family before this came from Ireland.
was a policewoman after husband died.
Family was of Irish and German origin.

Leahy and John Thomas; loving brother of Ronayne; grandson to the late James and
Mary Margaret Leahy and Paul and the late Patricia Thomas; nephew to Richard, David,
Bruce and Jane Thomas, and James, Michael, Patricia, Sheila and the late Kenneth
Leahy; fun loving cousin to Tess and Olivia Standa, Jennifer, Keanan and David Leahy,
Ryan and Patrick DeFlorin and Colleen Thomas. A recent graduate of the Culinary
Institute at Kendall College, he was employed at Jackie's Bistro in Evanston. A visitation
will be held on Thursday, May 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kelley and Spalding Funeral
Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Interment private. In lieu of flowers,

Forrest Leahy Thomas, age 22, died suddenly, April 27, 2003.
Dearly loved son of Noreen Leahy and Frank Lowry and John Thomas and
Kathy Ruggles; loving brother of Ronayne Thomas, Sarah and A] Broadfoot, Cari
and Diana Witcher, Douglas Johns; uncle to Gabriel Witcher and Evelyn Johns;
grandson to the late James and Mary Margaret Leahy and Paul and the late
Patricia Thomas; nephew to Richard Thomas, David Thomas and Dawn
Theelke-Thomas, Cindy Thomas, Bruce and Deb Thomas, George DeFlorin and
Jane Thomas DeFlorin and James, Michael, the late Kenneth, Patricia and Sheila
Leahy and fun-loving cousin to Tess and Olivia Standa, Jennifer, Kenan and

A recent graduate of Kendall College, Forrest was employed at Jacky's Bistro
in Evanston, Illinois. A ceremony will be held at the Congregational Church on
Wilson Avenue in Menomonie at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 12.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Forrest Thomas Memorial
Trust at Box 94, Downsville, to benefit land conservation efforts. Forrest found
great joy in the natural environment of Wisconsin.
