Marietta Hertert Schula is still alive and living in a rest home in Southern California. Although still able to walk around, she doesn’t recognize anyone. When her son, David goes to visit her, she confuses him with her late husband.5/26/2011 Phyllis Beck, who lives in Creighton, NE. Phyllis cared for my great aunt Mae Hertert Keane in the last decades of her life. Mae lived in a nursing home in Creighton.

Don was a policeman for the Los Angeles Police Department. When he retired he managed the Sepulveda Building Supply Company in Torrance, California. That’s were Brian picked up the training to eventually open his own building supply business.

When he got there, Don ended up working in that area for the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). He worked in Idaho and Oregon (where he applied for his Social Security Card). While with the CCC he was sent to Hartington, Nebraska where he met Tori. After they married, they moved to California.

Bay,
passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at her home in Redondo Beach.
Born in Iowa, Jorene was 70 when she died. She and her late husband John,
owned and operated the Hertert Voice Studio for many years. Jorene was a
member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and was
loved by her family, students and friends and her life touched many
people.
Mrs. Hertert is survived by a brother Cyril (Alice) Jones of Colorado and
David (Helen) Schula of Placentia; nieces, Geraldine Von Tersch of
Nebraska
and Donna (Scott) Woolsey of Oregon. Memorial Services will be held 2:30
p.m. Saturday, August 28, 1999 at the White & Day Colonial Mortuary in
