the 1842 date mentioned by your relations descendent could have been this marriage Chestnut, Samuel of Pittsburg (township) 10 May 1842 to Dunlop, Mary of Pittsburg (2nd daughter of James Dunlop). The witnesses were James Chestnut and James Dunlop. This info is from a book in the genealogy section of the Kingston public library. I think the book was for marriages, births (baptisms) deaths recorded at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. The children i mentioned were the ones that Samuel and Mary (Dunlop) Chestnut had. The 1861 census lists as follows-- Samuel Chesnut jr. Farmer age 42, Mary Chesnut age 35, James Chesnut Labourer age 19 single, Anne S. age 16 single, Samuel Labourer age 14 single, Mary age 12 single, William age 10, Robert age 8, Henry age 6, Martha (Margret in 1871 census) age 4, John age 2, Andrew age 1 . .
